There is a mistaken belief that filing for the caregiver pilot program while you are a VISITOR in Canada will grant you temporary status. IT DOES NOT. Read that again.
The caregiver pilot program is a PERMANENT RESIDENCY PROGRAM. You may file this application from inside Canada or outside Canada. If you are a visitor inside Canada, you must ensure that you maintain your temporary status while here or comply with the terms of your stay. Filing the caregiver pilot program application does not serve to protect your visitor status.
